Xiyuan’s work supports the development of climate-differentiated markets for low-emission commodities (e.g., steel) by advancing enabling conditions in demand, policy, finance, and carbon accounting. Her research and engagement focus on how corporate procurement, market mechanisms, and policy alignment can accelerate the scale-up of first-of-a-kind projects and unlock systemic change.
Background
Prior to joining RMI, she worked as a trading assistant at Société Générale, where she joined the workstream to design mechanisms for embedding ESG attributes into daily trading operations.
